Kannaki started very small. It began as a WhatsApp group and a tiny storeroom on the first floor of an old building in our village. With limited resources but a lot of heart, we eventually opened a small physical store near Calicut University and stayed connected with you through WhatsApp and Instagram. Today, Kannaki has grown into a brand trusted across Kerala, with a close-knit family of customers of all ages.

For us, Kannaki has always been so much more than a business. It’s a labor of love. We travel directly to weaving villages across India to source our materials straight from the artisans who make them. We spend time in their homes and workshops, learning about the fabrics and the unique stories woven into them, handpicking every single piece with respect and care.

Kannaki is our humble attempt to honor the hard work of thousands of weavers and keep our country's traditional weaving, dyeing, and fabric-making arts alive. When you buy from Kannaki, you aren't just shopping—you are becoming a vital part of this vision. You are helping sustain honest livelihoods and keeping ancient heritage thriving.
